The History
Formerly Closing Time Kennels-
It is my goal to build a steady, strong, no-quit, dedicated, and versatile companion.
This dream began 16 years ago, at which time I began the process of research and effort to find the dogs I wanted to build from. Unending study of canine structure and physiology, breed history, genetics, and pedigrees, teamed with years worth of conversation with purveyors, proponents, and historians of the breed, along with countless hours of first-hand experience; eventually I found consistency for the most admirable qualities among the Hammonds, Tatonka-Sorrells, and Boudreaux bloodlines. The Hammonds dogs brought a ruggedness and superb independent intelligence missing in most modern dogs, the Tatonka-Sorrells line gave me the most consistent bomb-proof temperament while retaining the drive of a traditional American Pit Bull Terrier, and I found the Boudreaux dogs to have the most consistent and moderate structure with proper bone and no extremes in any direction.
With dedication and careful planning, it is my aim to consistently blend all of these characteristics into a family of dogs for me to continue forward competing in a variety of venues, from weight pull to conformation showing to hunting and more. To achieve this, the dogs I select for my family are carefully evaluated under an extensive list of criteria to assess their drive, temperament, structural soundness, biddability, intelligence, tenacity, and physical capabilities. Our methods of assessment involve all of the traditional techniques along with the addition of modern advancements in an effort to preserve the heritage and success of this historic American breed while continuing to improve their quality, health, and uniformity.
I will be forever grateful for the breeders before me that created the keystones of my program; they deserve all of the credit for the quality animals I have been able to raise, love, work, and compete.
